| CARRIE HABER - Director, Media and Programming
Carrie is a writer/producer working in documentary, digital media, music and journalism. Her award-winning fiction, essays, poetry and features have been published in Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Czech Republic. As a filmmaker and post-production sound and video editor she regularly works for the National Film Board of Canada. Her commitment to community work has led her to produce a 5-day, international media arts festival profiling women artists and to develop programming in radio technology and journalism for Montreal’s under-privileged youth. She funded her feature-length Human Rights' documentary, Pig Farm, by working in Prague as a graphic artist, user interface designer and project manager.
She has composed music for CBC Radio, MTV and several film projects. |
DAN WEBSTER- Director, Cultural Events Dan is a cultural events producer and business developer with over twenty years in the music business. Touted by the New York Times as the 'Godfather of Alternative Music' in Montreal, Dan began recording and producing local artists in 1984 with the seminal Montreal alternative label, Psyche Industry. As booker of Foufounes Electriques, Dan contracted groups like Nirvana, the Smashing Pumpkins and Nine-Inch Nails. Donald K Donald Productions hired Dan in 1993 as their New Music Buyer, promoting the department through Greenland Productions, a new company he had launched earlier that year. Dan's experience has led to his current involvements as an artist manager, producer and music business consultant. His reputation for conceiving and producing unforgettable events has landed him a variety of culturally important projects outside the music sector. He is now co-owner of the burgeoning clean tech company, Infinite Island Power, which will be powering the Green Stage at Osheaga 2010 using solar and wind sources. |
